Mandatory Skills:
- Extensive experience in design, development, and integration of Physical Layer and Layer 1 for wireless products (Mobile Satellite terminals/chipsets)
- Strong background in embedded software design on Digital Signal Processors
- Hands-on experience in implementation of real-time software
- Expertise in embedded software design, real-time operating systems, device drivers, and hardware-software interfaces
- Strong C (and some assembly) development skills
- Familiarity with embedded compilers, linkers, debuggers, and revision control tools and concepts
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation
- Knowledge of Digital Communication Theory and Digital Signal Processing is preferred
- Knowledge of wireless protocols/air interfaces such as GSM is preferred
- Advantage to have experience with Motorola/ Freescale DSPs, especially Starcore. |

Detailed Description
|

Desired Skills:
- Development of real-time embedded software (firmware) on DSP chips for wireless modem products
- Design, implementation, integration, and verification of embedded SW for the physical layer with stringent real-time constraints
- Designs will consist of a mixture of both signal processing functions, low level protocols, as well as HW engine / accelerator control |
