Essential technical skills absolutely required by the candidate;
• Proficiency and experience in system administration Red Hat Enterprise Linux (3.0, 4.0) in a data center environment.
• Experience providing management services such as server provisioning, asset discovery, asset management, configuration management, and patch management to Unix/Linux servers
• Proficiency in one or more of the following scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, Python/Jython, and Java
Technical skills that if present would favourably differentiate the candidate from others;
• Experience with one or more of the following IBM Tivoli software products;
• TPM (Tivoli Provisioning Manager)
• TADDM (Tivoli Application Discovery & Dependency Mapping)
• TLCM (Tivoli License Compliance Manager)
• Familiarity and experience with one or more Unix flavours (Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX)
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux security and patching principles
• Solid understanding of development concepts/processes (object oriented programming, source control, etc)
Additional technical skills or experience that would be of benefit in this role;
• Database administration concepts and tools. Knowledge and experience with DB2 would be ideal.
• Familiarity with Intel / AMD based server class hardware concepts from the major vendors (HP/IBM/Dell).
• Familiarity and experience with Windows Server operating systems
• Familiarity and experience with Unix virtualization technologies such as VMware

Overall Role Purpose:-
To be part of a global GST development team, working with other team members in all of the main Organizations regions; Australia, EMEA, India, and North America.
The GST Remote Compute Configuration Management (RCCM) team is a select group of technical resources focusing on the development and support of Midrange server management solutions. RCCM is a new solution that is based on Tivoli software running on a Red Hat Linux platform, and is to be deployed at all Company accounts to manage both Windows and Unix/Linux based servers.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
• Contributing to the development, testing, and documentation of a new Company server management solution known as Remote Compute Configuration Manager (or RCCM). RCCM is based on the following IBM Tivoli products: TPM (Tivoli Provisioning Manager), TADDM (Tivoli Application Discovery & Dependency Mapping), and TLCM (Tivoli License Compliance Manager)
• Contributing to the support and deployment of the RCCM solution at lead Company accounts, and providing ongoing, level 3 support to teams deploying and supporting RCCM
• Contributing to ongoing maintenance of the RCCM solution by; helping to resolve issues reported in the field, working with the vendor to identify and provide fixes, and helping to plan, test, and document upgrades and patches to RCCM, as required
Evaluating other third party management tools against known requirements and existing tools, and providing documented results and recommendations |
